In preparation for this year’s Alternative Fuels & Vehicles National Conference and Expo, nominations are now being accepted for the 2008 PROPANE Exceptional Energy^® Fleet Awards.

The PROPANE Exceptional Energy^® Fleet Awards is an industry-sponsored event recognizing the achievements of on-road and off-road fleets that use propane for their vehicles and promote awareness of propane as a cost-effective, safe, and clean-burning motor fuel.

Each year, the propane industry awards several fleets with this honor at the Alternative Fuels & Vehicles Conference and Expo. This year’s conference is taking place May 11-14 in Las Vegas, NV.  Award winners will be announced and showcased at the conference on Tuesday, May 13, and their businesses or organizations will be promoted by the propane industry throughout the year.

This year, nominations should be focused on the following categories:

• Private Fleet: Any business using propane, with applications including commercial delivery fleets and taxi fleets, among others.
• Public or Transit Fleets: Municipalities using propane in county, municipal, school bus, and/or transit applications.
• Innovative Fleet Applications: Any fleet using propane to reduce overall operating costs, to improve environmental stewardship, and to improve its business.
• Airport and Port Applications: This includes airport shuttles, ground service equipment, and other propane applications at airports along with yard haulers, yard hustlers, etc., which are used at ports.

In addition to the above categories, if you feel there is a fleet, either public or private, that deserves the award, please submit it to us.
